A CheckD badge is a digital card or certificate with the ability to be an “envelope” for information that you can share. Your CheckD Data Wallet would have badges for:

Activities (“Visited the museum”)
Standardized Information (“Prescription”)

What are they good for?
When you apply your data to badges, you authenticate a badge and can use it to:

What is validation?
Validation is the scanning of your badge to validate that it is true. CheckD badges can be validated in real time and on demand with a smartphone camera, letting you enjoy the convenience of not just owning, but using your own data.
How does validation work?
You can generate a QR code of your badge from your CheckD Data Wallet and present it for validation. A validator would scan the code and receive a confirmation of the badge validity.
