Launch of HATLAB Studio Living Lab for Researchers

Dataswyft is pleased to announce the launch of the HATLAB Studio Living Lab (HALL), in conjunction with a special track at the International Conference of AI and Digital Economy in 2025 (CADE 2025).

HALL is a living lab that enables researchers to conduct live social experiments with the CheckD Data Wallet to create impact, especially with social and financial inclusion and in achieving the United Nations’ sustainability goals, all while providing identityless data on interactions in an ecosystem.

Over the next few months, HALL projects will be announced across the globe. Data from HALL projects will be made available for research and policy analysis. In Malaysia, Dr Yazrina Yahya, has been appointed as the Research Director for HALL Malaysia. Dr Yazrina Yahya is an Associate Professor with Faculty of Information Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and previously the Deputy Director at Malaysia Leadership Higher Education Academy.

Says Dr Yazrina: “We are very honoured for Malaysia to be one of the pioneering countries for HALL. Now, more than ever, digital technologies can make a difference in helping the marginalized leapfrog to a better quality of life through the use of their own data. The CheckD Data Wallet can help researchers design creative projects that can achieve impact while publishing their results in top international journals. It’s a win-win for everyone.“

Says Professor Irene Ng, Group CEO of Dataswyft: “HALL was borne out of genuine need to include researchers and policymakers in our learning journey as the CheckD Data Wallet starts to scale. We have high expectations that HALL Malaysia will be the poster child for achieving both social and economic impact with distributed and decentralized ecosystems.“

Online Briefing sessions on how CheckD Data Wallet works and how research can be conducted will be held from this week. Researchers interested in participating can find out more on the HALL website.

An onsite briefing of HALL will be held in Kuala Lumpur on 3 Dec 2024. If you are interested to attend, please register here.

A special track at the International Conference of AI and Digital Economy (CADE 2025) in Venice in June 2025 will be dedicated to HALL research papers.
